Jesus is risen

 

It was early Sunday morning. There was darkness everywhere! Then Mary Magdalene and some other women were hurrying somewhere. Their faces were sad, their eyes were swollen from weeping. The fragrant incense in Mary's hand was emitting a sweet fragrance. They quickly entered the tomb. Why are you going to the tomb in this darkness without fear? They went to the tomb of Jesus Christ, who died on the cross two days earlier, and they went to the fragrant incense.

 

When they got near Jesus' tomb, they were shocked. Do you know what happened? An angel came down from heaven, causing the earth to shake so much. He rolled back the stone that covered the tomb and sat on it. The angel, seeing his sister standing there in fear, said, "Do not be afraid. You are looking for Jesus who was crucified. He is not in the tomb. He has risen. Come and see the place where he was laid." When they looked into the tomb, Jesus was not there.

 

Although they were afraid on one hand, on the other hand, they were very happy that Jesus had risen from the dead. They immediately ran to tell the disciples this Good News. As they were going, Jesus himself stood before them and said, "Long Live." They were afraid and trembling, saying, "Oh, it is a spirit!" and slowly approached him, embraced his feet, and worshiped him. Their hearts were overflowing with joy, and tears of joy welled up in their eyes, they ran to the disciples who were crying with worry, stopped to catch their breath, and said, "Jesus has risen from the dead." Their joy knew no bounds!

 

Dear brother and sister! Do you know what day it is today? Easter! Then it is the day that the dead Jesus rose from the dead. Yes, all the tombs in the world are closed. But only one tomb is open. That is the tomb of Jesus Christ. Yes, Jesus is still alive today. Not only is he alive, but he is also among us in this place where we are gathered. What great joy! Yes, the Lord we worship is the risen God. Hallelujah!
