Flowers that bloomed on the cross
"...And they cried out the more exceedingly, Crucify him" - Mark 15:14
The Lord, who was born of love, spoke 7 sentences one after the other while he was crucified and hanging like a dead man. Each of them bloomed and smelled like a flower. Shall we look at them?
Forgiveness (Flower): Even when Jesus Christ was crucified and hanging in the height of his agony, he forgave them and begged the Father to forgive them. No one has done us such great harm. Therefore, let us forgive everyone.
Salvation (Flower): He commanded salvation for the thief who realized his sin and begged, "Remember me in your kingdom." God wants us to proclaim this message of salvation to others. How many people have we proclaimed it to?
Care (Flower): Seeing his mother who carried him for ten months and gave birth to him crying in unbearable pain, he entrusts his mother to his beloved disciple to take care of her so that he can fulfill his last duty. We too should take care of our parents who raised us in the midst of many hardships until the end. Jesus has done it as an example for us!
Compassion (Flower): The entire sin of the world fell on Jesus from 12 noon to 3 pm, and darkness enveloped him. The face of the Father was hidden. He suffered in unspeakable pain. Have we prayed with compassion to change the spiritual darkness that comes into our lives and see the face of the Lord?
Agony (Flower): In Gethsemane, he was so burdened with mental burdens that he sweated blood, and he was thirsty because of many sufferings, such as whippings and beatings. And he said, "I thirst for souls." Yes, we too will proclaim him to those who do not know him and quench the thirst of God.
Conclusion (Flower): God the Father has fulfilled the purpose for which he came to become man. Paul also said that he lived for Christ and finished the race. In the same way, let us be determined to complete the work that has been given to us.
Surrender (Flower): He surrenders his spirit to the Father as if he were giving something precious in a safe place to be retrieved. Are we surrendering our lives to him today?
He made the entire Christian life bloom into seven flowers in three hours. Let us also live by spreading the fragrance of these flowers.
