Looking to the Father

 

"…for thou art my rock and my fortress..." - Psalm 71:3

 

As usual, Sam began telling his four-year-old daughter Sarah a story from the Bible. Sarah would fall asleep listening to the story every day. That day, the story of Joseph was told to her. One day, the brothers, who hated Joseph very much, saw him coming from afar. They decided to kill him and throw him into a pit, so they took Joseph and threw him into a pit. The pit was an empty pit with no water, Sarah's face turned pale as she heard it. After a second, Sarah said, "Daddy, why didn't Joseph call his father right away?" Sam's eyes widened, his eyebrows raised, and he was amazed at his daughter's intelligence. Isn't this question from his daughter Sarah one hundred percent true? Isn't it an undeniable truth that any child has the right to cry out to their father when they are in danger!

 

He has given us the right to call on him at any time and in any situation. In Psalm 50:15, "Call on me in the time of trouble; Did you know that it is written, "I will deliver you, and you will glorify me"? In Phil.4:6, the words "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God." Isn't the message that Jesus is with us and that we are not orphans making our faces bloom?

 

If you recall Sarah's wonderful question for a moment, will you kneel down and tell Jesus about your situation of being abandoned in this situation of distress, suffering, and abandonment?

 

Yes, beloved, nothing is impossible for Jesus, and all things are possible for those who believe in Him. Ask with faith. Confess your sins and then ask Him for your needs. Humble yourselves and ask. Ask to the One who said “Ask it would be given to you”. Ask with the right to the heavenly Father. Surely your sorrow will turn into joy. Because He is always the Rock that we can reach.
