Anger

 

"...Be slow to anger;" - James 1:19

 

Muthammal lived as a woman who got angry no matter what. Whatever happened against her will, whoever she saw, her anger would come out. Why, even small children could not escape her. One day, Muthammal's mother said that she was coming to see her. But she was a little late. She could not even let go of her anger towards her mother. Muthammal's anger made her very weak one day. They took her to see the doctor. The doctor said that if you do not get angry and do not talk to anyone for a whole day, your life will be added by a year. He also said that the medicine for your illness is to not get angry and be calm. From that day on, Muthammal gradually reduced her anger and gave it up by the grace of God. The title of angry woman also went away from her.

 

In the Old Testament, we know the leader, Moses. Who is this Moses who led the people of Israel? This Moses was the meekest of all the people on earth. It was common for the people of Israel to anger Moses. When he led them in the wilderness, they ran out of water. Then Moses asked the Lord and he said to speak to the rock and it would give him its water. But Moses, instead, raised his hand and struck the rock twice with his staff. Because of this, Moses was unable to enter Canaan.

 

Beloved! There are many warning verses in the Bible about anger. Anger is evil, it can breed hatred. Today, the cause of division and cracks in many relationships is anger. This anger sometimes has the ability to divide the family into two. We must learn to control anger. This cannot be done by our own efforts. Let us depend 100% on the Lord's help to control anger. We can see many people who have lost their goodness and lives because of anger. That is why we read this, let us be slow to get angry. When we get angry with someone, it is like getting angry with the God who made us. So let us try to let go of anger!
