Mercy

"Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy" - Matthew 5:7

A young man who was educated quit his job to serve the Lord full-time. He struggled a lot at first. One day, he counted the money he had and kept money for the bus travel and bought a bun for the remaining money and went to work. When he got off the bus and went into a village, he saw an old man sitting outside his house. He gave him a tract and said "you are looking very tired, are you sick?" The old man said he has not eaten for two days and asked, "Do you have something to eat?" The young man immediately took the bun from his bag and gave it to the old man. He bought a banana with the money he had saved for the bus ride and prayed. When he went to work in the next village, he was given food and an offering at a house.

Jonathan's friendship with David is the best! Even though his father hates David, rejects him, and tries to kill him, he becomes friendly with David. He becomes friendly even though he knows that he has no chance to ascend the throne after his father, and that David has been anointed as king. Saul and Jonathan die in battle. David ascends the throne as king. When he ascends, he asks if anyone in Saul's family is there. When Jonathan's son Mephibosheth is found, David calls him and makes him live with him like a royal son. God says, whatever you did to one of the least of these, you did to me.

Yes, in the same way, because he loved and became friendly with David, who was rejected and isolated as a child, Jonathan's son receives mercy. He is protected and raised in the palace like a royal son. The servants who raise him are also shown kindness and mercy.

Beloved! The obstacle to being merciful to others is our pride and envy. Let us put them aside. Then we can be merciful. God says that the merciful are blessed, for they will receive mercy. If we are merciful, we become blessed. Not only that, we also receive mercy. God will take into account the mercy we show to others and He will grant us mercy at the right time. Therefore, let us be merciful to others and receive mercy from God.
