This is the moment

 

“...For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” - Romans 10:13

 

A Christian in St. Louis, USA, hesitantly asked a lawyer a question. I will now ask you what I have wanted to ask you many times, “Sir, why are you not a Christian?” (i.e. why are you not saved?) He asked. Hearing this, the lawyer said, “Isn’t it written in the Bible that a drunkard is not fit for the kingdom of heaven? You know my weakness.” Hearing this, the Christian said, “That is not my question, but why are you not a Christian.”

 

To this, the lawyer said, “No one has ever asked me that question before. No one has ever told me how one can become a Christian.” Immediately, the Christian opened the Bible and read many verses to him, saying, “Let us pray.” Both of them knelt down, and the lawyer prayed first, “Lord, you know my weakness; remove it from my life.” When he got up from prayer, he was overjoyed to receive the assurance of forgiveness of sins as a saved Christian. From that day on, he left the city and began to live a holy life. Do you know who this lawyer was? He was the scholar C. I. Scofield, who created the famous Scofield Reference Bible.

 

Dear children of God! “Now is the acceptable time, now is the day of salvation.” Let us always keep the verse 2 Corinthians 6:2 in our hearts. Let us not delay in preaching the gospel. No matter what sins one has committed, they will be saved by God when they call on His name, “Jesus.” Scholar Scofield also realized that the moment he heard the truth was the moment and immediately accepted the Lord. Whenever we have an opportunity, if we do not let it slip and tell the good news, it will lead to the rise of those who will do great things for God. “How will they believe in Jesus whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without someone to preach? (Romans 10:14)
