Daily Devotion (English) – 14.05.2021

Dreadful sin 

“…when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.” -  James 1:15

One day a man of God received a call from a young girl. She began her story saying, “Brother, I liked to listen to God’s message given by you on the TV. But nowadays I avoid watching your program. I have lost my peace of mind. I have become unloving and ruthless. I am so hard hearted that I kicked my mother and pushed her down. She is not able to walk now. I have backslidden. I hate myself for being a sinner. The man of God asked why she had turned from God. She replied that she had been enslaved by social network. She said, “One day I opened a new account in the face book I accepted many invites. Thus, I have run off the rails. I spend my whole time on face book. I have no interest in reading the Bible or praying. I do not watch even your program. When my worried mother inquired me why I had changed for the worse, I kicked her hard and she cannot walk as she was hurt badly in her hip. But my loving mother, with tears in her eyes asked me again why I refused to read the Bible and pray. I was so insensitive to her cries. Her tears did not move me as I am stone hearted. I don’t know why I am so crazy. I am in anguish, at the change of my behavior. Please do pray for me.

Judas Iscariot one of the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ was in-charge of the money bag. His little greed grew day by day and at last it led him to betray Christ Jesus. He became stone hearted to identify Jesus with a kiss. Dearly beloved young sisters and brothers, how is life with us? Just for fun we may send a message or make friends on face book thinking that there is nothing wrong in it. But that one message, or that friendship may corrupt and divert our minds and we may be led astray and we may miss our final goal in life. We think that there is no sin in using Instagram, WhatsApp, face book and we chat and in playing games and having friends of opposite gender. These little desire and temptation will beguile and lead to sin. If we fail to take it seriously, we will be entrapped by Satan. We read that “Sin lies at the door” in Genesis 4:7. Once we fall a prey to sin, it will be difficult to come out of the trap. So, let us pray and meditate on the word of God. May the Lord God protect us from being a victim to deceitful sin.

Pray for “Joshua Camp” scheduled for 14th, 15th, and 16th of May for the children of missionaries. Pray that more children join the camp.
