Leviathan

 

"...the Lord will slay Leviathan, the crooked serpent, the... flying serpent" - Isaiah 27:1

 

Beloved, today we will look at the flying serpent 'Leviathan'. The Bible says that this is a flying serpent. We can read about this in the entire chapter of Job 41. Reading and reading, we see a strong man who is the total embodiment of "pride". Do you know what evil qualities are hidden within this Leviathan? 1. Pride 2. Arrogance 3. Egotism 4. Conceit 5. Self-belief 6. Self-exaltation 7. Deceiving and misleading those who trust 8. Pushing down 9. A fiery tongue that devours others. 10. Stiff-necked 11. Making even the strongest people tremble with fear 12. Contempt 13. Thinking lightly... and many more.....

 

The world-famous king of the Babylonian Empire, "Nebuchadnezzar", was also very proud. After being warned by God in a dream, he did not humble himself and spoke proud words, so his appearance was changed so that he could not live with humans and lived like an animal. His hair became like eagle feathers and his nails like birds' claws. He grazed grass like an ox. He lay on the ground with his whole body wet with dew. This incident can be read in Daniel chapter 4. Similarly, great 'pride' was seen in the king who ruled the country of 'Tyrus'. We can also read about him in Ezekiel 28: 1- 19.

 

Beloved! “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” Everyone who is proud is an abomination to the Lord, “Before destruction the heart of man is haughty.” God opposes the proud, but he gives grace to the humble. “Before greatness comes humility” and “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will exalt you” let us heed the words of the Bible and remove pride from our lives!
