The God Who Protects

"The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him” - Nahum - 1:7

The Lord is always good and does good to us. According to the above verse, God is a stronghold in the day of trouble. Was it not he who lifted us up in times of distress when all was said to be over?. Let me tell you about an incident.

After the war between two countries, the soldiers of the defeated country were locked up as prisoners in a room. One of the prisoners escaped. The soldiers saw him and chased him. He went to a dark room of a dilapidated house and hid. He prayed to God with tears from that room. Then, he saw a spider weaving its web at the door of the room where he was. The spider had blocked the door. The soldiers who were chasing him stopped at the door of the room and did not find him and went back the way they came. Do you know the reason for this? Spiders build their nests in places where there is no movement of people. Our God is amazing. See how He saves the life of a warrior with a small spider.

Similarly, in the Bible, when Moses, a man of God, was saving and leading the people of Israel from Pharaoh’ clutches and suddenly Pharaoh's army came chasing them. The people of Israel had no way to escape. The great Red Sea was in front of them, and Pharaoh's great army was behind them. The people were afraid and murmured against Moses. Do you know how God saved them? The Lord said to Moses, "Stretch out your staff over the sea." And the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all night long." (Exodus 14:21). Before the Red Sea parted, the angel who had gone before the people moved away and went behind the people of Israel. The pillar of cloud that had gone before them moved away and stood behind them. It stood between the Egyptian army and the Israeli army so that they could not come together. It was a cloud and darkness to the Egyptians. But it gave light to the Israelites at night. See how wonderful our Lord is. The Red Sea parted, and they walked through it. After they had crossed, the Egyptian army came, and the sea came back and destroyed the Egyptian army.

You too may be abandoned by your doctor, be drowning in debt, or be childless. Just as our God protected that warrior with a small spider, so our Lord will hold your hand and protect you no matter what your problem is. Beloved. Our Jesus will not abandon us, nor will He forget us. Do not be afraid.
