Daily Devotion (English) – 10.05.2021

Are you prepared? 

“For in that He himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.” – Hebrews 2:18

Before I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal saviour, fear and horror filled my mind very often. When I was obsessed with fear, my heart began to flutter and I had sleepless nights. I would have the lights on all night and would sleep with my father in my room. Thus, I was living with an incomprehensible fear in my mind. 

Under these circumstances, my faith was strengthened as I regularly prayed with my friends in a certain garden. One day while we were praying, the Holy Spirit filled us. Right from that day I was free from the spirit of fright and horror. The Lord God helped me out of it miraculously and now I am a servant of God proclaiming His love. In today’s Scripture reading we find Jesus walking on the water and the disciples saw Him and were frightened thinking they were seeing a spirit. As soon as Jesus climbed into the boat, the wind ceased. 

Dear friends, you may be surrounded by fearful situations. The Lord who worked wonders in my life, can perform miracles in your lives and deliver you from all sorts of fear. Invite Jesus to board your boat of life. Believe in His mighty power. All of us would not have encountered the same situation. But there are people who are enslaved by the spirit of fear and spend their lives in fear. Jesus calls us to help them out with our words of love and comfort. Are we prepared to set such people free by preaching the good news to them?
