"Blessed be the Lord forever…" - Psalm 89:52

 

An old man who went to a hotel, after finishing his meal, ordered tea and arranged the bowls on the plate. By then, the server came and put the leaves on the plate aside, took the plate, glasses, and bowls separately and wiped the table. The old man looked at the person and smiled and said thank you. A few weeks later, there was a crowd at the bus stand! When I looked away from the crowd, the old man was unconscious. Someone ran and bought a water packet, sprinkled it on the old man and took him to the hotel and asked him to sit down and eat. The old man said, "Who are you?" He said. Last week, you thanked me for taking your leaves at the same hotel! That's me. No one in my job has ever thanked me, Why no one even looks at my face? I don't expect it. But I will never forget the way you thanked me with a smiling face for the rest of my life.

 

"In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." We read in 1 Thess. 5:18. It is God's will for us to give thanks. Yes, God heals ten lepers,but when only one came and thanked God, he said, "Where are the other nine?" When we give thanks, we glorify God. He has saved our lives in this whole year, but we think how many sufferings we have? He has given us hope when we are tired and broken even in small things, shouldn't we be grateful for that? The Lord is the one who keeps our faith. Because He is the one who begins and finishes faith. (Heb. 12:1) No matter how weak we are, He has saved our lives and given us another chance. Even if you say that you are on the verge of death, thank Him for still giving us life. Didn't Job, who gave thanks even after losing everything, receive double the good?

 

Beloved, some who saw the beginning of this year did not see the end. But God has kept us alive. We are obliged to give thanks for this. Although we remember only the difficulties and pains we faced this year, give thanks for the good we received from Him for our lives. The place of difficulties and pains like Jericho will be forgotten, and we can enter the new year with new goodness.
