"Be thankful" - Colossians 3:15

 

In the war in Vietnam, a military leader tried to save a common soldier who worked under him, but he was injured and died on the spot. His parents were informed about it. They had prepared a gathering in his memory. At that time, the soldier who was saved by his son was also invited to the gathering. He not only arrived late, but he was also very drunk. He ate the food there in an indecent manner, but he did not even express his gratitude that he was saved by the sacrifice of the leader who saved him. Not only that, after finishing eating, he left without even thanking the family who had invited him. As soon as he was gone, the chief's mother wept and lamented, Is it for this ungrateful man that my son gave his life?

 

As Jesus entered a village, ten lepers met him, standing at a distance, shouting, "Jesus, have mercy on us, Master." And all ten were cleansed. Only one of them came and fell at his feet, thanking him. Then Jesus asked, "Were there not ten clean men? Where are the other nine?"

 

Yes, my friends! The Lord expects nothing from us in return for the good he has done. But we also thank people for the good they do. We forget to thank the Lord. Let's think about it a little. How many valleys of tears, slippery paths, forgotten situations, lonely paths, times of illness, times when we thought everything was over and that was it, we should not forget even for a minute to thank Jesus who is with us. How much more thanks do we owe Him for keeping us alive till this moment despite so many shortcomings?
