The God Who Comforts

 

"Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord." - Genesis 6:8

 

The Lord God created the world and created a beautiful family. But everything that God saw as good turned out to be full of wickedness. The Lord regretted that he had made man on the earth. It grieved him to his heart (Gen. 6: 6). There was no one to comfort his heart. But his eyes saw only one man. His name was Noah. Noah means that he will comfort us (Gen. 5: 29). When the eyes of the Lord searched the whole earth, he was the only one who was worthy and who would comfort his heart. Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. When there was destruction all over the earth, he was put in the ark and protected as a family. Let us briefly consider some of the qualities in Noah that touched the heart of the repentant Lord.

 

He was righteous (Gen. 6:9): Noah did not conform to the sinful world. He was righteous and blameless among his contemporaries. No matter what the circumstances around you are, if your thoughts, actions, and behaviors are pleasing to the Lord, His eyes will turn to you. You will find favor in the eyes of the Lord.

 

He walked with God (Gen. 6:9): Walking with God is the experience of walking with Him. Those who walk with God will keep talking to Him. Do we have the experience of walking with Him in our lives? Let us think about it.

 

Beloved, Noah’s entire family was preserved because of his actions. Just as it happened in the time of Noah, so too in this world where we live, sins and wickedness are increasing all around us. There is no doubt that the wickedness and sin of man grieve and make God repent. In the midst of this, may your life, like Noah, comfort God. Amen.
