Anger leads to sadness

 

"Do not hasten in your spirit to be angry, For anger rests in the bosom of fools" - Ecclesiastes 7:9

 

 There was a man who never became angry no matter how anyone behaved. Even if he is insulted, he will not notice. Many tried and failed to anger him. A friend of his wanted to know how he could be like this. He went to the man and asked how can you not get angry even when insulted. Then the man told the secret. It was my habit to sleep in an empty boat on a lake. Once while sleeping, a boat came and hit the boat where I was sleeping. Who broke the boat so recklessly that my sleep was disturbed? When I opened my eyes angrily, it was an empty boat. Tossed and swayed by the wind and crashed my boat where I was sleeping. What is the use of projecting my anger on that boat? After that, if someone makes me angry, I will remember that incident. He said that he would calm down thinking that this is also an empty boat. The friend was also moved by it.

 

Even in the scriptures David was a victim of the angry, bad character of a man named Nabal. So David comes with his army to kill Nabal. Then Nabal's wife Abigail acts wisely and calms David's anger. Thus we see that David was saved from great bloodshed.

 

Yes, dear ones! Many times we lose our blessings by being angry. Therefore, if people insult and hurt us with their words, we should be patient according to the teaching of Christ. The scriptures say, "Do not be quick to anger in your heart, but anger will dwell in the heart of a fool." Yes, we may have lost many friends because of our anger. Let us seek God's approval to change our anger. Jesus said to love your enemies. This is the example Jesus set. Being choosen by Him, we must follow His example. So let us examine ourselves and know. We will be found infallible and faultless before God. Amen!
