"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind" - 2 Timothy 1:7

 

People in the world are afraid of many things, from children to adults. Fear of darkness, fear of traffic, fear of illness, fear of work, fear of future, fear of death. Howard, a devotee of God, says, "It is the scriptural teaching of Christ that protects us from the most powerful evils of fear, hatred, and deceit." A young employee was overwhelmed with pain and agony due to an illness. Taking so many medicines was of no use. A kind of fear gripped him. What if the disease will not be cured! He was afraid that he would have to suffer physical pain for long days. He immediately prayed. “Jesus set me free or take me to you”. He was able to bear the physical pain. Then, gradually, he got relief from the disease.

 

Similarly in the scriptures King Hezekiah was sick. Through the prophet Isaiah, God says that you will die and arrange the household affairs. But when Hezekiah heard this, Isaiah did not weep to the prophet or to himself, but turned to the wall and wept to the Lord. God acts immediately. He changes the sick bed by giving the medicine for his illness. Symbolically, he is doing great things by turning the clock back and forth. Fear is natural when we are in the world. But when fear comes, if you don't look at the problem, confusion and illness and tell them to the people but go to God immediately, you will get a solution for it. There is nothing that makes us afraid before the power of our God.

 

Beloved who reads this, the Lord who converts darkness light is with us. With him by your side, you don't have to live in the darkness of fear. So cling to Him and make the darkness light. Get rid of fear. God will manifest His power in our lives when we cling to Him. There are many promises in the scriptures that says do not be afraid. When fear clings you go with that promise and falls at God's feet, God removes fear. Alleluia!
