Patience is key

 

"…But when you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this is commendable before God" - 1 Peter 2:20

 

Beloved in Christ! A man who had compassion on a mentally ill man took him into his home. His father told him to make him sit in the corner and keep food and water nearby. But you don't do him any favours. If he is hungry, let him take the food and eat it. He did the same. The mentally ill person shouted and throws stones, but no one in the house minds him. As the days went by the man changed little as there was no one to react to his actions. Now he neither shouts nor throws stones. Seeing that the father had no one to react to and his temper changed. Similarly, if we do not argue against those who argue, there is no chance of conflict. Even Jesus Christ told his disciples not to do evil; If someone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other cheek also. Give our coat to the suitor to take your clothes. If someone forces you to walk a mile, he advises you to walk two miles with him.

 

Yes beloved! How do we react to those around us? Let's think about that. Don't we lose patience and reprimand them when someone says something about us? Let us not do so and be somewhat patient. Our God will honour us. This is what Moses, the man of God, did. When Moses' brothers accused him of a disagreement over his wife, he did not say anything to justify himself. If Moses had spoken, it would have turned into a fight. He kept his composure. God spoke for him. We will also follow this. May we receive honour from God.
