A prayer for peace of mind

 

"…for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content" - Philippians 4:11

 

Holy and loving Lord! Peace of mind is one of the many qualities you have given to man. Thank you so much for that. Paul says that in his life he has always learned to be cheerful. But we can't do anything without your support. Even though Job went through many problems in his life, he never hesitated to praise the name of the Lord. We learn from his life that whatever God gives us, we should accept it with thankful heart. And the apostle Paul teaches us that we should always, in everything and under all circumstances, give thanks to you. And we know that this is your will. We must learn to live happily in any situation.

 

We need the grace of your Son Jesus Christ to live such a life. We can do all things only if He strengthens us. He is the only one who strengthens us in all situations. The Holy Spirit must always govern us.

 

Even Ap.Paul was given a thorn. But you also gave him your grace. Through it he received Your presence, favour and power. We know that all the hardships, burdens, tears, and oppositions that come to us in our lives will ultimately be good for us as God's children.

 

The scriptures teach us many parables. When Paul the apostle was imprisoned, you gave him the grace to sing your praises with all his heart. You gave Peter the grace to sleep in prison without any worries. When the shipwreck came, Paul himself was in spirit and encouraged those who were with him, praising the grace that allowed him to land safely. Joseph also acted graciously in all circumstances. Your grace was with him. At last, you raised him up and glorified him. We also pray that you will give us fruit to live with such a heart. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ our loving Father! Amen.
