The journey to heaven

 

"...Put on your beautiful garments…" - Isaiah 52:1

 

What! You may be wondering why I should wear fancy clothes. Listen carefully. Each one of us are brides of Jesus who are preparing to meet the bridegroom on the journey of salvation! We decorate our body in our daily life. But our Bridegroom sees inner life and heart is like. Let's see what we have to do about it.

 

Wear the new dress:

So put off the old man, which is corrupted by the evil desires of your former conduct and put on the new man who is created in the image of God in true righteousness and holiness, having a new spirit in you. (Ephesians 4:22-24) Let's examine ourselves and see if I am the new man or the old man. Refresh yourself with this verse. In today's scripture we read 17 types of deeds of the flesh. Let all these sins be washed away by the blood of Jesus Christ and let us bear the fruits of the spirit of the new man.

 

Protect clothes:

Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he those watches, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, that his honour may be seen. (Rev. 16:15) Naked generally refers to sin. We must guard the garment of our salvation lest the devil strip us of the guilt of venial sin. In our country also in the state of Manipur the children of God were exposed. But their answer is that we have lost our physical garments but not our spiritual ones, and we have kept ourselves.

 

Take the supreme abode:

Although our earthly tabernacle house will perish, we know that we have an eternal house built by God in heaven, not made with hands. For in this tabernacle, we languish, and are longing for our heavenly abode.

 

Beloved! On which lies our hope. Among the delusional people on earth? Do many worldly desires such as wealth, promotion and desires prevail? No, are we doing what is pleasing to God and going carefully in our salvation journey?
