Peter's conversion

 

"…for there is no other name;…" - Acts 4:12

 

The first thing that comes to mind when we think of Peter is that he denied three times. But that was before he was filled with the Holy Spirit! Even when the servants arrested Jesus and took him to each of the chief priests, Sadducees, and elders, he followed with anger. In prison and in death, I will follow you,... Even if everyone stumbles for your sake, I will not stumble, he assured Jesus that he will not reject Jesus even after saying, "You will deny me three times". These are words spoken by Peter in his own strength. On the day of Pentecost 120 people spoke in tongues as they were filled with the Holy Spirit as they waited in the upper room. Hearing this, many of the natives were surprised to hear their own language, but some of them mocked that they were drunk and mad. Peter stood up boldly and said, "I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh" the prophetic word was fulfilled. You killed Jesus, yet God raised him to life, said boldly . How did this change come about?

 

After receiving the anointing of the Holy Spirit, the wisdom and courage of these scriptures came to Peter! When Peter and John made the poor beggar man get up and walk in the name of Jesus at the door of the church, they said that neither our own power nor self-piousness gave him relief, but the name of Jesus gave him eternal relief. They boldly spoke the name of Jesus in the presence of the authorities, high priests, and elders. Hearing Peter's words, 3000, 5000 people accepted Jesus. Although the Jews would not mingle with the Gentiles, Peter went to Cornelius' house and preached the gospel, so that the Gentiles could receive the filling of the Holy Spirit, and he healed Aeneas, who had been a hypocrite for eight years.

 

Yes dears! Repentant Peter became the greatest apostle and brought salvation to the Gentiles. Don't ignore anyone like Peter who rejected from now on, think and praise how powerfully God filled the weak and the denied with the Holy Spirit to serve. God can use us no matter how weak we are. Let's count everyone as valuable in Christ.
