Tribulation

 

"It is good for me that I have been afflicted,…" - Psalm 119:71

 

The ship started for China from United States of America. In the evening a Christian priest and a merchant were conversing on the deck of the ship. The merchant asked, "What for are you going to China?" The priest said that. "I am going to proclaim about Jesus." For a minute, the merchant was shaken, and said the missionaries who go to China were in vain. Once there was a priest named Murphy. One day they took him away and cut off three fingers of his hand. He is now in America. He said that if you had known all this, you would not have dared to go to China. Priest smiled quietly. Then they shared many things. After a while tea was served to them. The merchant was stunned to see the hand of Priest who bought the tea. Because his hand does not have three fingers. Yes, this is Murphy who went to China that day! Despite having his fingers cut off, he again fearlessly set out to do his God-given responsibility in the midst of tribulation.

 

Paul and Silas were imprisoned for preaching the gospel. Yet they sang praises to the Lord in prison. Then all the fetters that bound them came off. The jailer who was guarding them thought that the prisoners had escaped and was about to commit suicide. At that time the gospel was preached to the jailer. The jailer was also saved. All the jailer's household heard the gospel and received salvation. Those who preached the gospel while outside the prison did the same work inside the prison and proclaimed salvation.

 

Beloved! No one who feels that God is asking him the question, Whom shall I send and who shall go as our cause, cannot remain silent? That's why no matter how much tribulation came in Paul's life, it never made him tired of serving. What if I am whipped without seeing the tribulation? What if my finger is gone? God will surely be happy to see us when we run for Him with zeal. So let's work thinking that my goal is not earthly, but more than that, the crown of life, without thinking too much about the tribulations that befall us. Shall we start today? The Lord is with us!
