Do not become weary

 

"He gives power to the weak,…" - Isaiah 40:29

 

It was a temporary army hospital. The soldiers who were wounded in the battlefield were given intensive treatment. There a priest was praying next to a dying soldier. The awakened warrior asked the priest to do him a favour. The pastor also said that he will do it. He slowly took out a small address book from his pants pocket and pointed to an address that belonged to his Sunday school teacher. Write a letter to her. Mention that I am going to die as a good Christian according to the scriptures you taught me in Sunday school. He said he wanted to send them a message saying thank you for your ministry which lead me to the Saviour. The pastor immediately wrote a letter. A reply came from the Sunday school teacher.

 

In her letter, he said, "Son, I quit my job as a Sunday school teacher last month because I felt that my teaching was of no use. But your letter revived me when I was tired. I asked God for forgiveness for my lack of faith. I plan to do it again. Your letter lifted my tiredness and cheered me up." Thank you," she wrote.

 

In the Bible, the prophet Elijah was afraid of Jezebel and went on a journey in the wilderness one day and sat under a juniper tree, he demanded that he die: "It is enough, Lord, take my soul" and he laid down and slept under the juniper tree. Then the angel of the Lord said to Elijah, the journey you have to make is a long way. After receiving God's words, Elijah, who was tired, went with God's vision.

 

Dear people who are reading this! Fatigue is something that happens to all of us. But God does not want us to be paralyzed by that fatigue. He wants to encourage us and resume our work. Maybe you are tired of winning soul? Tired of working for days without any results? do not worry. We can see the results of this in heaven. Trust in God's word because from the Lord there is refreshment for those who are weary. Not only that, he will give strength to the weary.
