Are we deceiving God?
"Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?..." - Galatians 3:3
An important procedure is followed when selling horses. Horses are left thirsty without water for two or three days before being sold. Horses are very thirsty. There will be tanks filled with water in front of the buyers. Then they will untie those thirsty horses. When thirsty horses see water, they run very fast towards it. Then the master of the horse will blow the whistle. A horse heading towards the water will stop at the whistle of the master and return to the master. Any horse that suppresses its thirst and obeys the voice of its master will be bought as the best horse. That horse becomes the master's trusted horse.
Even though Joseph had a vision in the scriptures, he realized that God was with him even though there were many difficulties, struggles, reproaches and false accusations. It was because he was courageous and grateful that he was looking after his affairs that when the temptation of sin came, "How can I sin against God?" (Genesis 39:9) He left his clothes and ran away. He overcame the temptation and made God happy. The expectant God was not disappointed. He must have been happy. Raised Joseph to greatness.
Dear brother reading this! Sister! God fills us with new grace each morning with anticipation. He gives life and makes him live. His expectation is that he wants to work for him. But are we doing the things we like and making ourselves happy? Or are we the ones who please him by doing things that please him? We are invited to reflect. I am praying. We think that we have done the basic things for Christians to read the scriptures and have accomplished a great feat. God is looking for people to speak and act for Him instead of making childish excuses. Today, are we going to be like Joseph who spent the time God gave him for God and made God happy? Or are we going to grieve God like Adam and Eve who ate the forbidden fruit and made wrong decisions? Choice is in our hands, what are we going to do?
