Trust in God

“You who fear the Lord, trust in the Lord…” – Psalms 115:11

Once, the world-famous evangelist D.L. Moody was teaching Bible lesson in a Sunday school. All of a sudden, he took off the golden watch he was wearing on his wrist and asked the children, who likes to have this watch? All the children were doubting his words. They thought no one would ever give a gold watch free of cost. Thinking that he must be joking, no one came forward to receive the watch. At last, a six-year-old boy went up to him and got it from him. D.L. Moody wished him and said, “Let the watch be useful to you as it was useful to me!” All the other children were astonished. They asked the evangelist if he had really given the watch to him. He replied saying “Yes, it is for him only because he believed my words. Now it belongs to him.” The little boy was happy to show the watch to everyone.

In the Holy Bible there are characters who believed God’s word as innocent children do. When God warned that he was going to destroy the world with water, no one trusted in His words except Noah. He had faith in God and so he and the members of his family were saved. The Lord God said to Abraham, “So shall your descendants be.” Abraham believed God and he became the father of many nations. He was not weak in faith. He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief but strengthened in faith and it was accounted to him for righteousness. The patriarchs Abraham, Isaac and Jacob were fully convinced that what God has promised, he is able to perform and thus inherited blessings.

Beloved in Christ, God speaks to us daily. He reminds us of His wonderful promises such as “In you I will be glorified.” “Blessing I will bless you” He says that He is going to use us in the End time Revival and we will be given power to deliver people from the bondage of sins, diseases, and demons. God can do great things if we believe His words without any ray of doubt. The Lord says, “For it is an awesome thing that I will do with you.” Let us believe God just like Abraham. It is certain that we can see God’s word fulfilled in our lives.
