God remembers us

“…you will not be forgotten by Me!” – Isaiah 44:21

That day my husband went to the district of Ramnad on his two-wheeler on ministries. While returning, he met with an accident. He suffered a head injury and thus bleeding profusely. Nose and mouth also bled. He was in a serious condition. He had to be taken to the government hospital, Madurai. The travel time from Sayalkudi to Madurai is 3 ½ hours. The ambulance went fast. He was unconscious. I got a phone call and came to know all about the accident and my husband’s condition. I could not think straight or react. I went down on my knees. God strengthened me and comforted me with the following verse “You will not be forgotten by Me!” 

My husband was admitted to the hospital after 7 O’ clock at night. The doctor said, “Sorry, to tell you that he has to undergo a major surgery in his head. There are risks in the surgery. We will do our duty. If he survives, he may forget the past or his limbs may not function properly or he may remain in a coma.” Friends in our ministry were little bit shaken. But everyone prayed with strong faith. The surgery lasted for five hours. Many hours after the surgery he opened his eyes. With much hesitation I stepped in, with fright and agony. He called me by my name and asked what had happened. Hallelujah! His hands and legs functioned well. He has been doing ministry for Christ with a renewed strength for 6 years. 

Yes, “you will not be forgotten by Me” was the promise given to me and His words gave me hope. “Will not be forgotten” means He has been remembering us. How can the Lord of all the earth forsakes us, when His thoughts are with us? As we have been engraved in the palm of His hand, no one can snatch or harm us. Yes, we may be forgotten by all the people in the world, but Jesus never fails. 

Dear sisters and brothers, the Lord who changed my tears into joy, can work wonders in your life as well. We may lay in sorrow and deep distressed and may be sinking in a miry and horrible Pit. We need not lose hope. He has not forgotten us. He never despises our afflictions. He sees our tears and hears our cries. Surely, He will perform miracles. Remember we are always on God’s mind. So, we can be of good cheer and fearless.
