Daily Devotion (English) – 04.04.2021 (Kids Special)

Risen triumphantly 

“…Death is swallowed up in victory.” – 1Corinthians 15:54

When we hear the noise choo-choo, choo-choo and chuff-chuff, we all like to watch the train passing by, don’t we? Journey by train is joyful and exciting, isn’t it? This is how a shepherd boy who was tending his sheep enjoyed the sight of the fast-moving train regularly. The engine driver used to smile at him. The shepherd in return waved his hand and said bye and they found pleasure in exchanging their love. While watching over the sheep, he used to await the approaching train. One day all of a sudden, the flood was from the jungle river and water was gushing into the railway track. After sometime the little shepherd noticed a crack in the railway track. He ran here and there but he could not think of a means to stop the train which would be on the track soon. He just ran fast along the track towards the direction of the approaching train. The engine driver could not understand why he was standing on the track waving both the hands. The engine driver applied brakes and tried his best to stop it immediately. But it travelled some distance and then it stopped. So, he could not save the little boy. His body was shattered to pieces. The passengers were not aware of their narrow escape from the danger. When they looked in front, they found the broken track. The passengers’ eyes misted over with tears at the sacrificial and heroic deed of the little boy to save them.

Our life is a journey. We have been journeying in this world. To make our journey in the world safe, comfortable and peaceful Jesus Christ was lashed and crucified and He died for our sins shedding blood at calvary. But He has resurrected and His empty tomb is present. There is so much more to the story. It is a message of hope for all of us which says, “Jesus is risen, Jesus is alive.” This is a great way to start your Easter greeting message. A friend can sacrifice his life for his friend. But he cannot come to life again. Jesus Christ is the one and only God who swallowed up death in victory and has risen up. 

Today is the day of Jesus’ resurrection and it is marked as Easter. Jesus conquered death, power of the Sheol and satan. We can hold on to triumphant Jesus. He will help us lead a triumphant life. Hallelujah!
