God’s will or our will

“…He gave testimony and said “I have found David…a man after my own heart, who will do all My will.” – Acts 13:22

A certain young chap completed his education and went for work to support his poor family. He had just worked for 1 ½ years. At this juncture, he fell ill and suffered for a long period. He became too weak to go for work and so he had to quit his job. His desire was to earn a lot of money to end poverty in the family and to live a peaceful life. Now there is a question mark over his future. His mother prayed earnestly to God with tears. God reminded her of the vow she made before her son was born. She vowed that if God gave them a son, she would dedicate him to the Lord. She realised her fault and renewed her commitment to pay the vow. She rededicated her son to God’s ministry. Her plan and dream about her son’s job, promotion and income mattered nothing to her then. She let go of her will and surrendered to God’s sovereign will. The young man was cured of his disease and he is used in God’s ministry now. 

Saul was chosen to be king by God and anointed to reign over the people of Israel. But he did not obey the voice of the Lord and did evil in the sight of the Lord. God greatly regretted that He had set up Saul as king and so He rejected him and found David to be a man after His own heart and to do His will. God gave testimony and he was anointed. 

Beloved ones, how about us? God has created every one with a plan. Saul was rejected by God as he lived as his heart desired. But David fulfilled God’s will and received God’s testimony as the man after His own heart. Let us also fulfil God’s will and receive God’s testimony.
