Join together and pray
“…If two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven…” – Matthew 18:19
If two or three women gather together and gossip about the other neighbours, the entire foundation of the houses will rock whereas if they gather together with one accord and one mind and pray to God, they can move heaven. If we are aware of this truth, it is a great blessing. A group of three friends who were whiling away their time in gossip, made up their minds to seek God and pray doing the crucial period of the first lockdown for coronavirus. Sharing the updates on coronavirus in countries such as America, England and Italy, they kept on praying with the burdened heart. When they heard about a neighbour infected with coronavirus, they prayed fervently for his recovery. By God’s grace he got recovered and was back home after two weeks. They thanked God for His mercy. Moreover, no other person in his family and on the street contracted the virus. So, they understood the greatness and power of prayer. Since then, they have been praying together with zeal. Herod commanded to arrest Peter and put him in the prison for preaching the gospel and he intended to bring him before people after pass over. At night, Peter was sleeping, bound with chains. An angel stood before him and struck Peter on the side and raised him up saying, “Arise quickly.” And his chains fell off his hands. They had past all the guard posts and Peter was brought out. Soon he was at the door of the house where many had gathered for praying. As soon as we start praying God works in mysterious ways. Peter undaunted continued his ministry. Those who were being saved added to the church by the Lord.
Beloved ones, when we gather together and pray with one accord and of one mind as a group the prayer is more powerful. In the name of Jesus let us hold prayer with anyone who agrees with us in any matter at least once a week. The answer from God will be astounding. Our prayers can release bonds and open the iron doors. Some missionaries and ministers of Christ are bound and weighed down by law, authority and burden of the family. We have to uphold them in prayers so that they will be unleashed and minister diligently. God awaits our ardent prayer. So, let us take a resolution to pray for them at least an hour once a week. Then prayer will be our life style. Prayer is the most powerful spiritual weapon that achieves everything.
