Black coffee 

“She has done what she could do…” – Mark 14:8

Few years back we went as a team to the district of Sivaganga in a van for ministry. We went from one village to the other to preach the gospel. When we were about to leave a certain village after ministering, a sister named Chitra requested us to come to her house to pray. So, some of us went there and prayed for her family. Even now I cannot forget how Chitra and the neighbors with her showed hospitality and served black coffee with murukku. While leaving, the members of Chitra’s family made a request to us to come to pray in their house whenever we pass through that village. Thus, we have been doing ministry in that village every week and it has become one of our ministry fields. Now a fine church has been established in that village to glorify the Holy name of the Lord.

While Jesus was in Bethany, in the home of Simon the leper, a woman came to him with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume and she poured on Jesus’ head as he was reclining on the table. The statement of Jesus about her was “She has done what she could”  

As we have read in the above quoted incidents even though those sisters were in want, they offered all that they had. God never forgets their work and labor of love they had towards His name. God is speaking to you through this message. It is not said that you have to offer for the ministry only the remaining after taking for our use. God expects us to give like the widow of Zarephath the first-best no matter how little it is.  You may also get a remark as “She has done what she could.”
