Rejoicing in sufferings

“And the gospel must first be preached to all the nations.” – Mark 13:10

Sadhu Sudarsingh went to villages and proclaimed Jesus as the Christ. Many people accepted Jesus as their savior. God used Sadhu Sudarsingh with great power. When he was suffering for the sake of Christ, he bore it patiently and rejoiced in it. This attitude of his, drew people closer to him and it brought about the conversion of so many people. A lot of people came forward to receive the good news. Once he went to a certain village. He sang songs sitting under a tree. It attracted a big crowed soon. But when they heard him speak about Jesus Christ, they got very angry. One particular man in the crowd was infuriated and attacked Sadhu severely. He was badly hurt all over the body and blood was oozing out of the injuries and from his face. Sadhu bore everything with humility. He got up and with meekness prayed for their forgiveness and continued his preaching on the love of God. On seeing his goodness, many people began to set their faith in Christ. 

We read in the 5th chapter of Acts, in the New Testament that multitudes of both men and women professed faith in Christ, when many signs and wonders were done among the people through the hands of the apostles. Then the high priest called for the apostles and beaten them and commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus and let them go. They departed from the presence of the council rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name. They instructed and preached Jesus as the Christ in the temple and in every house daily. Thus, many more people accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior. 
 
Dear ones, have we ever made efforts for the salvation of the people who afflict us? Do we pray for them earnestly? It is written in 1 Timothy 2:4 “Who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” Like Sadhu Sundarsingh and apostles let us endure all the afflictions in our lives with jubilation and spread the good news. Let God’s ministry be done with great zeal and enthusiasm. God will bless us certainly. Amen.
