Daily Devotion (English) – 11.01.2021

“…Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us” – Hebrews 12:1

Arul was vexed and felt mentally exhausted because of continuous failures and relapses experienced by him in his life. On one side he had the zeal to live for Christ but on the other side he was frustrated because of his broken spirit. One day his eyes fell upon a tiny spider in a corner of his room. He noticed the spider attempting to weave a web. It tried and failed over and over. Each time the spider fell, it climbed back up to try again. This sight was a source of inspiration and encouragement to him.

There may be ebbs and flow, rise and fall in the tide of our spiritual growth. We may doubt fearfully whether we will be able to endure till the end. We need not get dismayed. When we take a look at the life of Moses given in the Holy Bible, he was too wrathful to kill and bury an Egyptian. Such a man of great fury was trained by God in Egypt and then he was entrusted with a greater responsibility of leading the Israelites for forty years in the wilderness. The Israelites murmured, rebelled and made him indignant every day of the forty years. But Moses was meek. He got over intense anger, which was his weakness and God testifies about Moses as “Moses was very meek, above all men on face of the earth.” 

Do you find yourself spiritually fallen because of annoyance? Generally, what makes us lose temper and get infuriated? It is because of the hidden pride which says “What I do is correct and all should accept the same.” Most of us fall and struggle to rise up only because of our weakness namely wrath. Do you worry that you are not able to get over it? Do not be anxious. According to the counsel given in the Bible, let us be clothed in humility. Pray and try to be patient. God who had transformed Moses will change you also. You will take victory over your weakness that makes you stumble.
