Integrity

“He who walks with integrity walks securely.” – Proverbs 10:9

All the employees at the bank had scared look on their faces. But bank was working as usual. There entered four police officers. They had come to investigate into fraud allegation. Rajan had no fear in his heart but being the cashier, he was investigated in a detailed manner for a long time and it made him little bit disturbed. But the manager came forward and bore a testimony that Rajan was an upright and honest person and there was no chance of doing it. Then Bharath, the peon who looked very innocent drew their attention. At last, it was proved that he had only lauded 10 lakh rupees by signature forgery. Rajan’s integrity saved him from disgrace. 

King Jehoshaphat was God fearing and doing what was right in the eyes of the Lord. His heart took delight in the ways of the Lord. He removed the high places and wooden images from Judah and made people seek God. He inquired for the word of the Lord before initiating anything. But although he was warned by a prophet not to go with the king of Israel for a battle, intentionally he allied to him. The king of Israel met his end in the battle. Jehoshaphat returned safely to Jerusalem. Jehu, the seer told him that the wrath of the Lord was upon him as he had helped the wicked but he was spared because of the good things found in him in removing the wooden images and preparing his heart to seek God. Jehoshaphat realized his mistake and set judges and ordered them to judge with fear for God.

Beloved, what is expected of us in the family and at the workplace? God is on the side of the right and just. So, we are safe under the shadow of our Helper and Savior. When we go wrong, the Holy Spirit prompts us and we can correct ourselves. Satan may discourage us and bring evil and negative thoughts in our minds. We should not pay heed to his flattery. We can resist satan and drive out the unclean and negative thoughts by our prayer. The manager bore a witness to Rajan’s integrity. Let the world bear witness about us. We can go ahead safely without fear.
