Just like an eagle

“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles.” – Isaiah 40:31

Of all the birds, the story of an eagle is quite fascinating. The eagle has the longest life span of its species. It can live up to 70 years. But to reach this age, the eagle must make a very difficult decision. In its 40th year, the eagle’s long and sharp flexible talons (claws) cannot grab a prey. Its long and sharp beak becomes bent. Its wings become heavy with old age and the feathers stick to the chest and make it difficult to fly. Then the eagle is left with two options- die or go through the painful process of change for 150 days. It stays in its nest on the mountain top. It knocks the rock and plucks the beak to let, the new beak grow. Then it plucks the old feathers to let, the new feathers grow. But it has to wait for 150 days. 

It is written in the Holy Bible that those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength and fly up with wings like eagles. If we desire to soar high above storm clouds to safety like eagles, we have to tarry. We need to undergo transformation. 

Dear children of God, at times change is necessary. On many occasions, we have to make changes for our survival. Now a days, mask is a must for our living. So, we have to get rid of our old superstitions and customs. We have been remaining at home for months, due to lock down. These days can be utilized for our transformation. And taken as the days to trust and wait faithfully for the Lord. Then we get renewed strength and power to overcome the world and ascend high to go up over close to God.
