Is it a banana tree? Or a coconut tree?
"May the LORD cut off all flattering lips, And the tongue that speaks proud things" - Psalm 12:3
John Uncle had a beautiful garden near his house. It had many trees like mango tree, coconut tree, guava tree and palm tree. Uncle John's children, Daphne and Darwin, watered it daily and nurtured it. Growing trees and plants is their favourite.
One day a merchant came to their village to sell saplings. Immediately, Daphne and Darwin took their father and bought a banana sapling from the merchant and planted it near the coconut sapling in the garden. Days passed. The banana sapling has grown to the size of a coconut sapling. The grown up banana sapling could not bear the pride. Looked at the coconut tree next to it. Hey, coconut tree! Asked how long you have been in this garden? the coconut tree humbly replied, I have been there for a year. Immediately the banana tree joked that you are a year old, but you have grown so much, do you have some disease? The banana tree still grew. A clan emerged from it. And the long leaves, flower and fruit graced the tree itself. Both Daphne and Darwin were overjoyed to see the fruit in the banana tree. Then he brought his father and showed him the banana fruit. He also held the banana tree and said it was the right season. He did not even touch the coconut tree. Now the pride of the banana tree has gone to the sky. He smiled at the coconut tree. The coconut tree was silent. Next morning the housekeeper came. He grabbed the banana and cut it. Now the banana tree screamed. Then he took a knife and cut down the banana tree. That's all, the pride of the banana tree is gone. The coconut tree grew calmly and kept giving fresh water and coconuts to whoever planted it.
Dear brother and sister! Don't underestimate others with your beauty, knowledge, skills and talent. Be humble and live as a useful child for Jesus and others. O.K
