Daily Devotion (English) – 15.08.2021 (Kids Special)

Freedom! Freedom! 

“…if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” – John 8:36 

Hello, kutties! How are you? Are you all fine? Today is 15th August, isn’t it? What is the significance of this day? Yes, today is our Independence Day. In the former years we went to school for flag hoisting ceremony with march past and that was followed by cultural programmes and distribution of sweets. But for the two past two years we could not celebrate our Independence Day in schools.

75 years ago, it was a hard and a long non-violent struggle by our freedom fighters and great leaders and this is the day when India got its freedom from the British rule. Jesus has set us free from our sins. Multitudes of people are slaves to video games and social media. If we are trapped in such habits, we need not fret! Jesus can deliver us from the slavery. The Bible says, “If the son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” Yes, if we are wrathful or envious, can Jesus set us free? Yes, certainly. But how can we be freed? Only when we call upon Jesus and pray for forgiveness. We need to share our testimony with others and pray for their deliverance from sin. Stealing, lying, deceiving, quarrelling and disobeying are wrong and they are detested by God. Reading the Bible and praying, being responsible and doing chores, being obedient and doing the homework are pleasing to God. If our lives are acceptable in God’s sight, we shall be blessed and we shall be a blessing to others around us. ok. 

John F. Kennedy, the former President of the United States of America said, “Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country.” By the way, what good work can we do for our country? We can pray for our country men. We can pray for the children and the people who are in troubles. We can help them monetarily if possible. This is the time for us to pray for the spiritual revival of our country. Is that enough if we just pray and keep quiet? We need to carry the good news and tell the love of Jesus to our classmates and playmates. Ok, kids. Wishes for the 75th Independence Day!
