Be diligent
“Go to the ant, you sluggard! Consider her ways and be wise,” - Proverbs 6:6
Rohit’s mother got up early and finished cooking and then she called out, “Rohit! Rohit!” As there was no response from Rohit, mother was under the impression that he was asleep. But Rohit got up and began to play game on Google play. He did not pay heed to his mother’s call. Rohit’s mother entered his room to wake him up and serve him tea. On seeing him with the mobile phone, his mother was sad. In the past, Rohit got up smartly, brushed his teeth and went to his mother asking for tea. She could note the change in his attitude. She said, “Rohit you are very sluggard nowadays. When the online class is over, you spend the rest of the time on watching the TV and on google play. You do not do anything except eating and sleeping. You should not be like this.” Rohit got angry with his mother.
He got the tea cup and said, “Mummy, I do all my work myself. I brush my teeth and I have my meals. I attend my classes regularly. What else do you expect me to do?” saying this he went into the garden. There in the garden, he was enjoying the beauty of nature such as the chirping of birds and swaying of the leaves in the gentle breeze. Suddenly a black ant bit him and he felt the pain. He looked down and saw a colony of ants and he tried to crush them under his feet. The ants changed their route and were working diligently without being disturbed by his action. Some ants crawled along on his leg. The sight of the tiny ants liable to death by a crush finding a way and working actively made Rohit ponder. He made up his mind not to be idle but to be diligent. He ran to his mother and said that he would mend his ways and do what is good. Rohit’s mother was pleased with her son. She thanked Jesus for speaking to her son through ants and bringing in a change in his mindset.
Dear little ones, do you just eat and sleep and remain idle turning a deaf ear to what your parents tell you to do? You must obey your elders. Moreover, sluggardness is not at all good for your health too. So, children must be always diligent whether it is a holiday or a working day. Mobile games are harmful. So do not waste your time on it. Ok?
