The Little Young Man

"Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones;…" - Matthew 18:10

A young man was led to salvation by his Sunday school teacher. He could not even memorize a simple verse of Scripture. The Sunday school children laughed. But the teacher encouraged him, and he wanted to become a member of the church. This young man, who was seen trembling in the oral examination for it, was denied the opportunity to become a member. At the age of 19, he boarded the train to Chicago and became a salesman in a shoe store. At the age of 23, he decided to serve the Lord full-time. He led a Sunday school with 1500 children. At the age of 28, he took charge as the president of the Young Men's Christian Movement (Y.M.C.A.). He founded two churches in Chicago. He travelled to America and England and preached the gospel to about 50 million people. That young man is the famous American preacher named D.L. Moody. He was also the first to establish a Bible college in America.

The vessels that God uses may be weak and insignificant in the eyes of the world! God does great and powerful things through them. Therefore, we should not consider anyone insignificant. Do not think that they are small children and will grow up then accept the Lord, but consider them as whole people and whole souls and preach the gospel. If you preach the gospel at a young age, they will know and accept Jesus at the beginning of their lives. They will live for him all their lives. They may be poor in education, they may not be talented, they may not be good-looking, they may not be properly dressed, they may be poor, do not ignore them, preach the gospel without ignoring them. They are the pillars of tomorrow's society. God is able to do great things through them.

The Bible says, “Cast your bread upon the waters; after many days you will see its fruit” (Eccl. 11:1). Even if you do not see the fruit before your eyes right away, the world will talk about you for a long time. A Sunday school teacher led a young man to the Lord and became a famous minister named D.L. Moody. Why not be such a Sunday school teacher? Believe and preach that the young men you lead will become D.L. Moody and Billy Graham. Receive the heavenly fruit.
