Everyone is equal in his eyes
"For the LORD your God,… mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality nor takes a bribe…" - Deuteronomy 10:17
Ajay was looking for a better job after graduating M.B.A from a reputed university to achieve greatness in his life. The Lord called him to do his evangelistic work in a village. After much mental struggle, Ajay obeyed the Lord's call. Clement, a 12th grade construction worker, was assigned to work with him.
Ajay felt that both of them were completely different. He doesn't seem to have made the right decision. He thought, "I, who am highly educated, do not deserve to work in the village with Clement, who has no proper education." Thinking, "Why don't I graduate from a Bible college and minister among the best scholars?", kneeling to know the Lord's will and praying for His will, the Lord showed Peter and Paul in front of Ajay.
Peter is an ordinary fisherman. Paul's education is almost equivalent to many university graduates. There are many differences between the two. Yet both had the same salvation and preached the same gospel. Perhaps Peter had an inferiority complex about Paul's educational qualifications and degrees. Likewise, Paul may have been jealous of Peter's direct intimacy with Jesus. But even the uneducated Peter may have understood some situations better than Paul. All thoughts, high or low, are equal before the mercy emanating from the Lord.
Just as Paul became a humble servant of the Lord who brutally persecuted Christians with Judaizing zeal, Peter, with a suspicious hasty intellect, became one of the foremost apostles. So Ajay learned that we are all fellow workers in God's vineyard. He progressed successfully in the ministry. Lord! Give grace to cast aside worldly status and work with fellow workers enthusiastically!
- Mrs. Jasmine Paul
