"Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake;…" - Matthew 5:10

In 1960, a priest named Floresco was attacked by terrorists. He was given a chance to escape with the promise that he would be freed if he betrayed his Christians and missionaries. The employee denied it. As punishment for that refusal, he was pierced with hot-boiled iron bars, and was led into his dormitory where rats had been starved for days were left. Unable to sit, he chased away the rats by standing for two weeks. Finally, they tortured his 14-year-old son in front of him. Seeing this, the pastor shouted. In the midst of all the confusion, the son said, "It doesn't matter father if they kill me. But I don't want to be called the son of a traitor who betrayed the Christians." Even after giving his son to die, he stood as a statue.

Scripture points Judas Iscariot as the son of destruction. Yes, he is. (John 17:12) He was with Christ for three and a half years, loved like a friend. A person who witnessed the miracles and signs that Jesus performed. He who dined him. How did he betray the savior, the saint, the innocent for thirty pieces of silver! Even then the person who bought it was not able to live in it? Oh pity! The intestine collapsed and he died. The land bought with that silver coin. The land is still called the "Blood Land" to this day. Acts 1:18.

My people! What is our position? Do we accuse and torment others with our index finger for petty gain like Judas? No. Do we suffer for righteousness' sake? When we point fingers at others, we can escape God's judgment if we remember that one finger points to the other, the thumb points to our Creator, and the other three fingers point to us. May God's mercy be upon us!
