Commitment

"…Lord, what do You want me to do?..." - Acts 9:6

I lived in a village surrounded by the Western Ghats on three sides. A dam has been built at the foot of that hill. During heavy rains, the dam fills with water and looks like a small sea. It will be heart-warming. The reason why so much water comes to that Dam is a stream. It begins as a small spring in the sprawling lands. During the rainy season many streams join flow into the Dam in a long journey. Due to this, the water in the Dam increases. Many arable lands use the water. People also get enough water. Can this water be used if the streams flow erratically somewhere?

Even a young man named Saul in the New Testament travelled in wrong directions. He was very devoutly zealous for the traditional doctrines and was living in a disorderly manner, persecuting the Church of God. His life was a useless life. But when he heard a voice and saw a light from heaven, he asked, "Lord, what do you want me to do?" He knew that his plan was to evangelize the Gentiles. He dedicated himself to that supreme vision. Small dedication made Paul to proclaim Jesus in so many countries. He speaks to us even today through all these proofs in the scriptures, and so many efforts were made for Christ. He has lived a useful life for many, why for us too. He lived in a way to say boldly “Follow me”. If that stream goes in the other direction, it is useless, and we cannot enjoy its benefits. When we are redirected to the right path we reap its benefits.

Beloved! What is our role in manifesting God's work on us in this earth? You should know that. Thus, when we dedicate ourselves to do His will, God's grace and mercy will flow into us like a fountain and we will be filled with spiritual blessing. This spirit will help us to bring many souls to the battlefield of Jesus, the leader of the army.
