God who gives victory

“…If God is for us, who can be against us?” – Romans 8:31

A certain farmer and his friend were going to the forest to hunt wild ducks. While walking, their conversation was centred around God. The farmer’s friend asked him, “You always speak about your struggle with the devil. But I have never experienced such conflict.” The farmer wanted his friend to understand about the spiritual warfare. He said, “Now we are going a hunting. Suppose two ducks are hurt by our shot and one falls dead and the other one runs for its life, which duck will you catch first?” His friend said, “I will run after the wounded duck to catch it. We can take the dead one leisurely.” The farmer said, “Satan knows very well that you are a dead duck and he will deal with you later.” 

The Lord commended that, “There is none like Job on the earth, a blameless and upright man and one who fears God and shuns evil.” But satan did not leave such a righteous man alone. He destroyed all the possessions of Job with God’s permission. He encountered trials and temptations. Job wailed and lamented his miserable plight. But the Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning.

Beloved readers, satan always targets men of God who walk in God’s way. He will be launching his missiles one by one knowing that we are zealous for God and we may turn the world upside down if we are not disturbed. So, he keeps fighting with us out of fear. But satan was a defeated foe. He can never overcome us. we can resist him and overcome him because the triumphant Christ is on our side. Even if the battle is fierce, we need not grow weary. Let us claim victory in the name of Christ Jesus.
