Watch over 

“Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.” - Proverbs 4:23

Long time ago, a play actor went to the United States of America. He stayed there for many months and exhibited his extraordinary talents in his performance and won name, fame and wealth. He saved 1 crore rupees. To safe guard the amount he bought a precious diamond cubic. He kept it hidden in his bag and carried it with him. Then it was time for him to move to India. In those days air transportation was not available. He had to travel by sea. It was a long journey on a ship for two months. Under these circumstances, his voyage to India began. Suddenly a thought flashed into his mind on seeing the 150 passengers who had boarded the ship. He planned to display his skills in acting and juggling and to make extra money. 

The passengers used to sit in the lower deck for recreation every evening. The actor stood before them and announced that he was going to entertain them. He took out the precious diamond in his hand. He was tossing it into the air and catching it in different ways, heights and angles. All the passengers were attracted by the scintillating diamond and they appreciated dazzling diamond. On hearing their cheer, he tossed the diamond to a greater height and for the first time in his life he missed the catch. As the strong wind was blowing. The ship was tossed up and down and the diamond slipped out of his hand and fell into the sea. For the first time he missed the catch. Till then he was exceedingly happy, but now he went and curled up in his led. He was helpless. In fraction of second he lost the fruit of his labour. God bestowed extraordinary strength upon Samson. He was given the power to judge Israelites. He lost all his strength while sleeping upon Delilah’s laps. Then they put out his eyes, took him to Gaza and bound him with fetters of brass and made him grind in the prison house.

We fall into sin despising salvation which is the precious gift of God bestowed on us. Salvation is a priceless treasure. If we neglect it, we will lose heavenly bliss. “The Kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid. In his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.” Let us not fall away and lose our salvation and be disqualified for entering the kingdom of heaven. Let us watch over our salvation to inherit the kingdom of heaven.
