Do not grow weary

“…all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.” – 2Timothy 3:12

It was a godly family. They led a self-sufficient life. Suddenly the storm of suffering came up in their life. The head of the family fell sick and met his end. His wife bewailed and lamented saying “All the prayer offered for his healing became futile. God too has forsaken me.” She grieved the loss of her husband and she was dejected and could not pray anymore. Soon she realised that God is the only reliable source and she cannot survive without God in this world. She was sure that the peace and comfort we derive from reading the word of God cannot be obtained anywhere. Thus, she clung to Jesus and God renewed her strength and faith and helped her get through the storm of life. 

Nowadays, everywhere people encounter death, disease, loss, famine, hunger, unemployment and unfavourable situation to run the family. Thousands of people lament over this situation asking “How long will these sufferings last? Why has God allowed such phenomenon? Won’t there be any change in the prevailing situation? When will the coronavirus be done away with? Why is there loss in my family? Infact the only answer for all the question is Jesus Christ. When Jesus was crucified and was hanging on the cross he was forsaken and in agony. He cried out with a loud voice saying, “My God, My God why have you forsaken me?” So, He can understand our agony and feel our pain and suffering. So, He will help us surely. As He had overcome evil, He will help us to overcome it. He who crushed satan on the cross will help us to be victorious. So, in this difficult situation without growing weary of sufferings ask God for patience and strength to endure and accommodate ourselves to it. Sufferings are not permanent. They are reversible. Hallelujah.
