God is my friend 

“You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.” – John 15:14

A certain rich man had a friend who was poor. Once he had some shortage of money. His friend as usual came to meet the rich friend. He was found to be in a state of anxiety and grief. His friend asked the rich friend how the life was with him. The rich friend told him to keep quiet. Then he asked angrily if he could lend him 20 lakh rupees as he was in an urgent need of it. Saying this he went into his room. His friend followed him into his room and asked casually if it was ok, if the amount was ready in half-an-hour. The rich friend was astonished how he could get the amount and looked at his friend with contempt. But he received the exact amount in half-an-hour. While handing the money, he said, “You have spent all your time in earning money and forgot to earn good friends. I helped every one and became acquainted with a lot and made friends with them and they are ready to help me in trouble.” They stood embraced for a time. The Bible says, “Use worldly wealth to make friends for yourselves.” Of course, we require true strength of life to live in this world. 

Beloved, did you notice how nice and useful to earn good friends and have them around us? Imagine how fortunate we will be if the Lord God, the creator of the heaven and the earth becomes our friend. We need not doubt if it is possible for Jesus to be our friend. Just we can pay attention to what He says, “You are My friends if you do whatever I command you” (John15:14). So, let us keep His commandments and become His friends. Anyone who obeys His commandments can have friendship with Him. If God becomes our friend, there is no regrets and no sufferings. Victory is ours in everything!
