Arise boldly

“And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit….” – Acts 2:4

In Wales, while Evan Roberts a young boy was praying fervently, God spoke to him saying that He was bringing about a revival fire in Wales, that would spread to England, Europe, Africa and Asia. Evan Roberts was craving to preach and share what he had in his vision. But he was not given an opportunity to do it. Then in the end the pastor said, “Give your sermon on coming Wednesday. But I don’t think anyone would stay longer to hear the sermon.” Astonishingly, the pastor and all the 17 people who listened to his sermon were touched by the Holy Fire of God. The young Roberts preached the word of God fearlessly. People were moved by his simple but powerful messages. The revival fire storm had hit the churches. Within 30 days, 37000 people repented, confessed their sins and accepted Jesus as their saviour.  Within 5 months, one lakh people got converted. The fires of revival were blazing all through the nation. 

In the Holy Bible we read that after the ascension of Jesus, on the day of Pentecost, all those who waited in the upper room were filled with the Holy spirit promised by Jesus. That day 3000 men repented, saved and added to them. The revival came about through Peter, an ordinary fisherman with little education. Wherever the apostles went God manifested His power to people with wonders, and signs. The Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved. This was how a great revival took place in the days of the apostles.

Beloved ones, we may have craving for the spiritual revival in India. Maybe we are in anguish of not having the burden for souls like Evan Roberts. Only when the Holy spirit is poured out on us, the burden for the souls will stir us up. Our heart will urge us to contribute something for our share in the revival in India. The Christian population in Tamilnadu is only 4%. If we desire all of them to get to know Jesus, one Christian must win 25 souls. We may think, that it is impossible. But if we are filled with the Holy spirit, this can be done doubtlessly. When God could perform great things through an ordinary chap Evan and an unlettered fisherman Peter, it is possible with us also. Arise undaunted! You have a great share in the upcoming spiritual revival in India.
