Bamboo Seed

"It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I may learn your statutes" - Psalm 119:71

A young man went to the pastor and said, "I cannot bear the hardships and sufferings that come in my life." The pastor immediately said, "Let me tell you something, listen carefully." When God first created plants and trees, He planted grass seeds and bamboo seeds. But in one year the grass grew and flourished. It took five years for the bamboo seed to sprout. But in six months it grew tall. When God saw the grass growing, He waited until the bamboo seed grew. It waited for five years, then it grew deep, sprouted and grew tall. Similarly, the hardships and suffering that come to us are to shape us. When God places us in a high position, they will be helpful.

Similarly, in the Bible, Joseph was hated by his brothers. They stripped Joseph of his clothes and sold him to the Ishmaelites. The Ishmaelites sold him to Potiphar in Egypt. When Joseph worked in Potiphar's house, the master of the house promoted Joseph to the position of overseer over the servants. He also gained Potiphar's trust. Later, he was falsely accused by Potiphar's wife and sent to prison. There, he was given the responsibility of interrogating prisoners. Only then did he get the opportunity to tell the king the meaning of his dream. Through this, he was promoted to the next position next to the king. The events that happened in Joseph's life and the experiences in Potiphar's house developed his personality. After he was promoted, he accepted his brothers and looked after them. When their father died, his brothers, fearing that Joseph would take revenge, fell down and said, "We are your slaves." Joseph replied, "You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good."

Beloved, do you think that you are suffering and being tormented? Don't forget that adversity can help you to be a blessing to many. The years it took for the bamboo seed to sprout or the times it took for Joseph's dream to come true may be many. But it is not wasted time, it is time that is created! Therefore, any delay or difficult situation in your life is for good!
