The Lord who saves

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” – Matthew 5:16

“What are you doing? Get ready to go to the field for harvesting. I have assigned the task to 10 farm workers. I shall go a bit early to see to them. You come later taking lunch for us.” said Rajaiah to his wife. His family sought God earnestly and their top priority was to God. The Lord blessed them and all they had and the yield of their field as well.

So, on that day they harvested paddy. After harvesting the rice crops, they took the harvested crops to the threshing floor for storing them in piles temporarily. They covered the piles of crops with tarpaulin sheet. In the adjoining field also, they had finished harvesting. It rained hard. In at night, in the morning the owner of the adjoined field went there to thresh and separate the grains from corns. It was shocking to discover that the crops were seriously damaged. Actually, a flock of wild ducks (mallard ducks) had eaten and destroyed the crops. Like the cloud of grasshoppers, the ducks had landed in the field and targeted the grains. They identified the invaders only by their footprints. In dismay, the farmer cried out that even though their dint of hard labors bore very good yield, they went to waste and they could not savour the fruits of labors. It was an awful sight. In a state of panic, Rajaiah stepped into his field. Not even a single grain was spilled or fed off. It was rather unbelievable to his eyes. None of the ducks had entered his field. He could hardly see any foot marks of the ducks. He thanked Jesus for making a hedge around him as well as his belongings. The onlookers from the adjoining field and the farm workers watched the scene with wonder. They believed that greater is the Lord who is with Rajaiah. The fragrant life of Rajaiah’s family drew many people towards Christ.
