The Little Finger

“…those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary.” - 1Corinthians 12:22

Dearly Beloved Kids! You have listened to the Bible stories and animal stories. Have you ever heard fingers chatting? Today let us see what they talked about.

How many fingers do you have on one hand? Yes five. Very good. Do you know the names of these fingers? Don’t know? I’ll tell you. Thumbkin, Pointer, Tallman, Kingman and Pinkie. Ok, Thumbkin said, “Look at me. Although I am short, I am strong. Without my help, you cannot lift even a tumbler.” All the others agreed with him. Then Pointer said, “I am the index finger used for pointing to the direction and showing things. How important am I!” The third finger was thinking hard. The middle finger said, “I am the tallest and the fattest. So, I am great” The fourth finger always remembers his worth. The Ring man said, “I am very proud to say that I am honored in all weddings by being adorned with gold, silver and diamond rings.”

Pinkie the last and the little finger worried because he had nothing special about him. While he was thinking that he was an unworthy person, Jesus spoke to him saying, “While praying with folded hands you are very close to me.” The Little man was delighted and said firmly, “You are all useful only to carry out the worldly matters. I am close to God while praying. Only if we pray, we get things done by God.” All of them agreed with Pinkie.

Did you hear what they conversed? We may also feel inferior and unworthy like the little man. We may think that our background and status are not up to the mark. When we pray with a broken and a contrite heart, God will be by our side. Although we are labelled as useless and good-for-nothing, we can change into little stars when we are close to Jesus. Ok, are you happy?
