Hard work pays off

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” – Philippians 4:13

Lizzie weighed only 1200 grams at her birth. She was born with an extremely congenital disease called Neonatal Progeroid syndrome, which prevented her from gaining weight. Moreover, she was blind in her right eye. As she looked different in appearance, she was mocked by the beholders. Lizzie looked at herself in the mirror and wept bitterly saying why God had created her. When she was 17 years old, her photo was uploaded by someone in a video labelling her as “The ugliest woman in the world.” It was viewed by more than 40 lakh people. Many hurting comments were being posted. She was dejected and depressed. She spent sleepless nights. Then she made up her mind not to live like a frog in the well. She resolved to get out of her little circle and expose herself to new experiences. She began a YouTube channel and uploaded her motivational speech that carried the title “How do you define yourself?” Imagine, there were 54 million viewers. Now she has been delivering motivational speeches to inspire and empower a more positive environment to those who face the same problem as hers.

When Moses was tending the flocks of his father-in-law in Horeb, God called to him from the midst of the bush. God said, “I will send you to rescue the children of Israel from captivity and I will be with you certainly.” But Moses said, “Who am I that I should bring them out of Egypt?” He also said that the people would not believe him and listen to his voice. He entreated God to send somebody else not realizing his special call. But God was not moved by his excuses. At last Moses obeyed God’s command. Moses planned to live with his family and his flocks. He found it difficult to come out of his circle but God chose him to be a great leader and prophet.

Beloved readers, we too plan all about our future and act according to our whims and fancies. When something goes against our wishes and plans, we become weary and we are unable to face the real situation. So instead of keeping a small circle and living in certain boundaries, we must submit ourselves into God’s hand and give in for His greater plan. We may be hesitant, but let us accept God’s will and His plan for our future so that our life will be blessed. Let us move forward with strong faith and succeed.
