NAVIGATORS
"And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations" - Matthew 24:14
Dawson Trotman was born into a Christian family. He would memorize and recite the scriptures well. But in his daily life, he lived as a thief and a drunkard. One day in church, God spoke to him with John 5:24. In 1920, a sailor named Les Benzer invited Dawson to preach his testimony and the gospel to his fellow sailors. Dawson agreed to go. There were 12 people there. Those 12 accepted the Lord and gained 24 more people. This ministry grew into a chain. Soon 125 people accepted the Lord. He immediately started a movement called "Navigators Ministry". "Navigators" means those who sail the boat of life on the sea of the world. Through this movement, many Christians were sent as missionaries to many parts of the world. Many accepted the Lord.
In a parable told by Jesus Christ, a man who was going on a journey to a foreign country for the kingdom of heaven, called his servants and gave them five, two, and one talent according to their ability. When he returned after a long time, the one who had received five talents had earned five more talents. The one who had received two talents had also earned two talents. The one who had received one talent hid it. The master praised others and took the one talent from the one who had given him and gave it to the one who had five talents and threw him into outer darkness. We are saved freely by his grace. We must give this salvation to others freely and work to expand the kingdom of God. Many people are struggling to navigate the ship of life amidst the many waves of the world. We will preach the gospel and help them reach shore without being shipwrecked. Then that ship will reach the shore of heaven.
Beloved! It is because of the many children of God who came and preached the gospel that our ship is not damaged when it is hit by the waves of worldly worries and difficulties but is anchored and safe in the anchor of "faith". Many people in the world are still struggling to navigate their ship of life. You teach them where to put their anchors and become "Navigators" yourself. Shall we continue to do Dawson Trotman's "Navigators Ministry"?
