Daily Devotion (English) – 31.10.2021 (Kids Special)

Ask, it will be given

Nirmala the mother of David and Rosy could not bear the sight of the children shivering with cold. The missing roof tiles caused leakage in the roof. The kids covered themselves with one bedsheet and sat awake. Nirmala could not share her distress with anyone. Her Husband was looking for a job as his company was closed down. The Kerosine supplied from ration shop was running out. Nirmala fed the kids the cold remnant of the morning meal. She was waiting for the return of her husband with hunger. David who was seven years old asked his mother why Jesus had sent so much troubles to them. But his sister replied saying “Jesus will not trouble us. Even if trouble is given, it is only for our good. We shall get good house certainly.” Moreover, she said that they were instructed by their Sunday school teachers not to grumble about anything. She assured her brother that they would get a better house if they prayed earnestly. David with dejection said “Who asked for some other house. It is more than enough if the owner fixes the missing tiles”. The mother felt that her faith was not as strong as her daughter’s. When it was time for family prayer, Rosy asked if she could start with the prayer and her mother okayed it. They knelt down and Rosy folded her tender hands and prayed well with faith. 

They heard a knock at the door. When opened, there stood their father. He wondered why the children were awake. David hugged his father and told him about the leakage of rainwater in the roof and the damp floor and the walls. But their father had returned with good news. He said “Brother Rajadhurai has given me a job in his cloth shop and we can stay in the small house which is behind the shop. I will go for work from tomorrow “. They were exceedingly happy. Rosey’s face beamed with a beautiful smile. They thanked Jesus and went to sleep. Dear kids, let us also share our troubles with Jesus in our prayer and pray with strong faith. Jesus will answer our prayer in time.
